Daddy has decided. It's the Audi S5 in blue:

Daddy likes.

That's a chic car. And where are you going to put the baby seat? Here's what you need:

perfect for those narrow Italina streets, and much more fitting to your new image.

See? You're a girl, and you think it's hot. Ergo, my point is proven. I'm a Jeep guy anyway.

You're going to need a four door.
There's no way around it.

You're gonna want plastic seat covers.

Why? It's not like the kid is going to be able to use the door any time soon.

You have to be able to squish it into the (rear facing) car seat.

Not according to most of the road tests. 4WD, 5 secs to 60MPH, and balanced handling. Granted, it's not an Evo (or a ferrari, for that matter), but it delivers.

As an example of the type of review it's been getting:

Maybe it's just me, but that was a pretty lukewarm review. The car is still over 3,800lbs, has a 58/42 weight distribution (with massive front overhang - this can get really annoying in day to day life even if ignore the pendulum effect), and has nice boring AWD.

If this is supposed to be a fun car, you can do a hell of a lot better.

(And I'm no Evo/STi fan, either. Those things are really unpleasant near the limit.)

Hey, Don't hate on Michael's Mid Life Crisis Car

I'll just say this - my child was perfectly fine with being shoe horned into the back seat of a 1973 Chevrolet Camaro with 400 small block n' 4 barrel Holley on top of an Edelbrock, TH400 auto tranny w/shift kit and posi rear end. The baby seat fit just fine in the back between the roll bar supports...

Oh - and this was MY car : ) Not any guy's.

Why not A5 TDI with the s-line kit, wheels, etc.? Basically the same performance (more torque, slightly less top-end power), and great fuel economy too (35mpg).

A5/S5 is also fine for child seats and even full adults in the back. It's like a Continental GT, not like a TT -- full sized 4 seats, 2 doors.

(I'd get a diesel A5 if offered in the US; assuming it comes out in 2009-2010, it's going to be a hard choice between that, a Tesla, and a Nissan GT-R)
